My D&D group is now getting late in our campaign, which means anything we want to do that's left, we gotta do it now. Like the two character backstories we hadn't dealt with, though this week we saw the climax of the druid's, and the the rogue's is likely to soon ensue. Also, the druid was finally able to cast the reincarnate spell he wanted to do, and he didn't even have to do it to my wolf companion. The results were mostly hilarity, with a murdered human being very mad at being murdered, being rejected by his god for not being evil enough, and then coming back as a forest gnome, though sadly he didn't stick around.
Less hilarious, perhaps, is the fact that the session ended with Varvara infected with lycanthropy, having just confirmed how much her wolf really doesn't like werewolves, and how much she herself is appalled at them. The guy playing the druid with the ability to cure her has been quick to assure me he plans to do that at the start of our next session, but I think she's going to carry some permanent trauma from the whole thing. Also, with the rest of the party likely to become werebeasts, it means the campaign likely won't end with them all walking off into the sunset together. It's strange, having that knowledge.
