missizzy: (ouch)
Spent another extra day teleworking after reading the highway horror story of the morning. My own commute might only involve two roads and the metro, but when the buses weren't even resuming until late in the morning, it wasn't worth taking any chances. None of us went in, in fact.
Then in the afternoon, we got the news from the couple in our D&D group: they're both showing suspicious symptoms, and are getting tested tomorrow. I know they went to a party New Year's Eve, so if they've got it, they probably got it after I last saw them that Wednesday. But that'll still have me at home at least a little longer. My sister and brother-in-law both tested negative on Sunday, and she was already hoping to bring us tests from their supply this weekend, by which time it'll have been ten days since Wednesday.
Who knows if it would've been a good idea to try to go in tomorrow, anyway. The roads did seem mostly clear by the afternoon, but apparently that didn't stop the highway nightmare. Closer to home, it turns out there are a lot of fallen trees. Our own magnolias got a bit battered, but are at least standing.
