Dec. 20th, 2021 09:23 amYesterday the married couple in our D&D group moved the last of their belongings into their new home, and most of us showed up to help. Of course there was only so much I could do when it came to their really heavy things, but even those needed things like having their feet screwed on afterwards or having the moving blankets put under them to go up the stairs. At one point when they got their keyboard plugged in, they even had me play my current song for everyone while they were figuring out what to do with the artificial fireplace. Also, I got a chance to map out the ten minute walk to the metro from the house, which is about to become very important, since we're going to start holding our D&D sessions there as soon as they get enough chairs.
So now there is a house, about an hour's walk away from my own, where there are friends of mine who will sometimes have me over. That has never existed in my adult life before. The closest thing has been when I've tagged along with my sister to see her friends, and even that hasn't happened in years.
I also helped one of them fetch the pizza they fed us with, which meant yesterday was also the first time I ever stepped into a Costco Wholesale. That place was so big, it was kind of scary. Their pizza was good, though.
