Much news this evening
Aug. 13th, 2021 06:25 pmThe news that hit our household the most was sad. I came home to my mother crying over Nanci Griffith. She's loved her for many years, and I grew up hearing her music constantly in the car until I fell in love with much of it myself. I still remember when we saw her in concert. And she died too young, really. RIP.
But I am made very happy by the Critical Role news, too. I actually suspected already we wouldn't get the third campaign until very late in the year at least, and now that they're apparently building a new set, I especially suspect they're hoping to wait until Sam's kids, at least, are fully vaccinated. That's worth waiting for. In the meantime, I am really excited by the upcoming Narrative Telephone, and I'm getting more hyped over the animated series by the day.
I also came home to my AwesomeCon badge having arrived. The accompanying letter cracked me up, too, where they declared they were as excited to send me this badge as Thor was to find the Hulk and the Ewoks were after the Battle of the Endor, though, unfortunately, they included a Harry Potter reference as well, which is less than appropriate these days. It's my big event of the summer, though, so I'm getting kind of excited too.
