Went into DC once again today, which also meant riding the metro all along my normal route to work as well. National Airport seems to have gained a wing during the pandemic, and all in all, a good amount of construction has gone on, though I find there are places where I don't remember what was there fourteen months ago anymore. I'd already seen that work had finally been started on the new Potomac Yards station we'd been hearing about for years, though now I got to see it up close.
Back in the final weeks of the beforetimes, I'd tried to check out another game store in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, only to accidentally go there on the day it was closed, and I'd never gotten back. I also wanted to go back to the nearby bookstore. This time it was the latter that wasn't open, but at least they'd both survived. In fact, the game store was having a sale-while still limiting customers allowed in at once, which meant a line. But I was determined to get in this time, so I waited the half hour. I now have a dice tray, which I'd been wanting to get for a while. Got Xanathat's Guide to Everything as well, and some pretty stones and dice-and as part of the sale, I managed to pick up a metal D20 for free.
They had a farmer's market going on as well. I now want to go back there again for that as well as the bookstore.
Missed a few hours of the French Open for it, but there were plenty of hours to watch that today! Feeling kind of sad for Theim, but hey.
