Just like that
May. 15th, 2021 09:10 amThursday morning I went into work with my mask in place and the assumption it would be staying there for much of the time I was out of the house. Then, what do you know, they change the rules for the vaccinated about 24 hours or so before I officially become one, and suddenly I'm going to to dinner with my family with all of us carrying out masks instead of wearing them, and we had them on for the minute or so we were actually in the restaurant, but for the rest of the evening, I was left to feel disturbingly bare. Except I didn't care, because suddenly I can be in the company of my sister and her husband again. I didn't even care about the poor quality of the pasta.
And now, mom and I had to decide whether we'll be masked even in the supermarket this morning, though that was still a very quick decision. I'll probably still wear it in Old Town today, too. Just being able to go down there again, especially when my sister thinks it'll be pretty crowded, is going to be overwhelming enough.
I also finished a Shadowgast ficlet this morning, taking place immediately after the end of this week's episode:
( For a moment, all remains still. )
