Mom got her first dose!

This morning mom heard from our medical provider: her age and medical conditions added up to enough to make them willing to vaccinate her immediately. Next thing we knew she was scheduled for today at 12:30. At their facility in Falls Church, not a distance it was wise for her to drive both ways alone. So I ended up accompanying her there and sitting in the garage for half an hour watching last night's Critical Role epic (though I'd learned about its general outcome from Twitter already; it was stressful enough a morning as it was!) while she went in. Apparently they've got a good system going on there, though; she got the shot and 15 minutes observation and then she was out. So far she seems fine.
Good thing, too, when the afternoon had a bit more trouble. Dinner failed to thaw out and we ended up running out again to the fancy supermarket to grab a pizza to bake. Also, I've now got a terrible headache, and I'm not sure the painkillers are doing anything to it.
