Jan. 20th, 2021 01:51 pmThe inauguration was good to watch. I'm still a little wary of Biden's calls for unity, but his speech was more grounded in reality than not. More importantly, we got through it without anything terrible happening. Of course, we still have to get through tomorrow for that. My mother was made very happy by it; the Bidens seriously appeal to her. And, of course, we now have a female Vice President. Four years ago, I honestly thought I'd never live to see the day.
It made be miss being in DC something awful, though, and when that was something I'd avoided missing before now. The change in president increases that feeling. Perhaps by the end of the fall I shall be able to walk there again, and I definitely will.
For now, however, I am content to look out the window, and be glad that the lands I see are no longer Trump's America. What they will become instead, perhaps, remains to be seen.
