One good thing about there being no Critical Role this week: it made it easy for me to watch the animated recreation of The Faceless Ones. It became another Doctor Whoe thing that made me aware of just how much I was missing the regular series. It was certainly dated, especially in how many events of the story it just did not think through, but not as much as plenty of surviving 60s TV. (I've watched a few old Star Trek episodes in recent months. Inevitably there's moments in each and every one of them that make me cringe.) And however he may have varied between his regenerations, one finds in the Second Doctor the same core moral philosophy and semi-humourous behavior as we now see the more recent Doctors display. Some things don't go out of style.
My poor mother is trying her best to attend the Jane Austen virtual conference, but none of the methods they gave her for logging on are working. We don't know if it's just at her end, of if the entire thing's down. At least if it's the latter, she should get a refund, but who knows.
