May. 17th, 2020 09:58 amI am now halfway through episode 17 of Vox Machina. This one's a little weird for me, since I've already watched the first two hours of episode 18, and thus I know exactly how this one ends. The opening didn't impress me much either; my feelings about Scanlan have now turned very mixed. But while I guessed as soon as the fight began that Grog was going to lose it, I did not expect to enjoy the aftermath of that so much, even though I'd already seen Travis' rage quit. I especially did not expect to get so much appreciation of Keyleth, when I must admit she's grated on me a couple times, though I understand why Marisha's doing what she's doing. Also, I really did not intend to start shipping Vaxleth so quickly, but seriously, that whole scene with her as the minx. And his being so supportive of her.
But then I watched a documentary about New York accents, and I'm feeling heartbroken for my mother's hometown. What state is it even going to be in by the time this is over? The documentary, made back in 2013, even talked about how much the city is losing to capitalism, and this is probably just going to make all of that worse. Will I even recognize the place next time I set foot in it? It did not help my mood that Alan Deshowitz was in it...
