Dec. 17th, 2019 06:29 pmGot my ITPE gift finished and submitted last night. Now the deadline for treats has been extended and I'm feeling a slight temptation to do one, although the general spread of requested fandoms isn't the easiest for me to do so. If I do make any, they'll probably be very short.
At least it's a distraction from the alarming news coming at every corner now. I can't even get that enthused about the impeachment anymore when Moscow Mitch may make it impossible for it to even expose Trump properly. And the news about the budget deal is painful, even if it actually might include some tax relief for my mother. Plus my physical symptoms have gone from my normal issues to much stranger physical discomforts which I have no idea how to deal with, and thirty-odd years of experience with doctors have left me pretty sure there's no point in even asking them about it.
We have our directorate holiday party yesterday. That was a good afternoon, with us getting to meet the newest library staff member's girlfriend after hearing so much about her, as well as one historian's wife who works as an archivist for the Smithsonian; we showed her some of our older items and swapped stories about our collections.
