(no subject)

There's been a rash of burglaries in the neighborhood lately, mostly of jewelry and money, and they've been getting bolder. Crime usually hasn't been a real problem here, and good thing too, because when it comes down to it, we don't have anything that could keep out anyone who's really determined. Mom is even talking about getting a big dog, which I would *really* rather not, and I suspect if the cats understood her words, they would very loudly object. Or getting a security system, but that hasn't helped the victims so far; these people have been disabling them. We're much less impressive-looking than our neighbors, and might seem not worth it (and we're actually not, really), but I don't know.
