Watching ESPN right now
Jul. 4th, 2019 08:01 amAnd apparently they will be kind enough to relegate John Isner to ESPN+, only to subject us to Tennys Sandgren! Really, that one doesn't even make sense from a purely tennis perspective.
So far, in fact, the most enjoyment I've gotten from this tournament was listening to Coco Gauff win on the ride home last night. I want to believe in her, too, but I'm watched this sport long enough to know we simply have to give it at least a couple of years. Enjoy her the rest of the tournament, then brace yourself to see how she does after it. Though the way things are going, maybe she'll really stun and win it.
Getting kind of amused at all this hyping of the upcoming Nadal-Krygios rematch. But hey, given how rare it is for Rafa to dislike and/or be disliked by any of his competitors, of course they're going to get all dramatic about the exceptions. It usually doesn't reflect very well on the exceptions either, of course. Rafa's comment about how he's formidable "when he wants to play tennis" is making me giggle.
