Went to AwesomeCon

My trip to Awesome Con this year ended up being a date, as I met up with a guy I'd been messaging with for a while. We had lunch, wandered around the floor together, and attended a NASA panel about lunar exploration, where talk of possibly sending people back there actually wasn't as interesting as talk about the samples of extraterrestrial material they do work with, including samples from the Apollo missions that are only being opened now, fifty years later. It being Sunday, there were fewer cosplayers around, but they did include quite a few Captain Marvels. I also noticed multiple Carmen Sandiegos, one of whom was accompanied by a Waldo. There were a trio of Jawas who were impressive, as was the Rocket, but maybe the most unusual character I saw was the Fairy Godmother.
I had on my Karen shirt, which also helped my date find me, and two of the people running the art stands liked it, but I forgot to put on earrings this morning, so when I got there I ended up buying new Tardis earrings, as well as a print of Belle. I now have four sets of earrings from four different fandoms.
