Apr. 14th, 2018 10:00 pmWord of advice to anyone who hasn't: don't update your iTunes, at least until they release the newest version. I made the mistake of doing so, and now, if I close it, I can't reopen it without restarting the computer.
Also, when I tried to import my phone's photos today, the computer insisted there were none. When I'd been down to the tidal basin and taken a bunch of the cherry trees. And when I emailed two to my mother, she didn't receive them. Going to try to deal with that tomorrow.
The trees were an interesting sight, since they're current in the process of losing their blossoms and transitioning to leaves. I've never been there for that before; in the past I always got down there earlier, but this year my cold kept me at home last week. Not that the basin was any less crowded for it. The festival was still having an event or two, and the normal thick of resulting tourists had to be navigated. And the petals were everywhere. Including in the air, because it was a windy day. Walking with cherry blossom petals floating around you is quite a romantic thing to do, though there is the problem of getting dirt blown in your eyes.
I even skipped the Stars on Ice broadcast, though I've seen most of the videos on YouTube anyway. Loved Ashley's Pink program; she goes beyond feeling that music to living in it. Posted video highlights on the blog for the first time last week, and I'm going to try to keep going with that, though the recent deletion of one of the biggest skating video accounts is worrying.
Also learned how to handwash clothing, after being told by the dry cleaners my newest skirt is so delicate even they can't clean it. Wouldn't have bought it if I'd realized that; handwashing is a huge pain. The skirt is currently drying on one of our old wooden drying racks, and we hope it'll come out of the process all right.
