More snow!
Mar. 5th, 2015 05:08 pmThis morning I woke up to no snow but the government being closed anyway. It arrived a good deal later than expected(traffic in this area is always awful), but it has now showed, and I think there's a good several inches accumulated right now, with it still falling, though the heaviest snowfall seems to have now passed. I should probably shovel the walk, but at this point am hoping the kid who showed up offering to do it last time will do so again. I have no idea whether I'll be going anywhere tomorrow either.
But I'm glad for the day off. The week's news has depressed me even more usual, with my alma mater shutting down. An academic world that doesn't have room for Sweet Briar College is one that disgusts me, and perhaps this hits home the way the horror stories my mother and her colleagues exchange didn't, and with all the accusations around from being saying this isn't necessary, I don't know whether to believe them in denial or right. I don't even know whether to donate to their campaign or not.
As well as watching Junior Worlds, I also tried to find an accompaniment to Greg Laswell's "Comes and Goes" I could do on the piano; I want to sing that for my next video. I went through a YouTube tutorial I couldn't follow, a map of chords that made no sense even after I research how to read it, and finally ended up downloading an app called Jellynote where I found something that *might* work. This one might take a while.
