missizzyIt's been a strange father's day for this immigrant's daughter, closing in on five years after her father's death. Considering what we're doing to so many mothers and fathers at the border, celebrating the day feels like mockery anyway. I escaped it for much of the day by going to see Ocean's 8, which now mom wants to see. It was mostly just fun. But another strange thing is to have a heist movie that one's of the better examples I've seen of women helping each other out.
Though the real event of our weekend was the cat needing medication. Today we even got a syringe from the vet, and had to figure out how to use it. And once we did that, we still had the problem that Ian was refusing to be medicated. Mom and I now both have new scratch marks on us from his claws, and we were only able to dose him with half a pill.
I also got the new edition of Fantasic Beasts and Where to Find Them, since my original copy vanished years ago. The new artwork alone makes the book worth it. Still, I miss the trio's annotations. The movie trailer was among those in front of Ocean's 8, and now I think I will ultimately see it, after all, despite the problematic things that have popped up in relation to it.
