Mom and caught the tail end of Biden's speech last night, where he once again called for unity. She, whos has been extremely anxious about us losing both her pension and my salary, thought it perfect. I just wish I could still believe he's right.
I meanwhile, spent much of the week watching my way through nearly ten hours worth of various nerdy-ass voice actors playing their way through two different worlds where things all going to the hells was not averted. And after the large amount of fun Tuesday's one-shot turned out to be, Thursday was the one where we showed the people goaded beyond endurance, where you can't blame them for what they do, but the manipulation of the villagers by those who are largely responsible for their most recent suffering is still pretty painful to see. Especially when you know it'll just get them killed.
We did at least have Orym point out the gods aren't really the problem here, and his speech at the temple entrance is one of the best Liam's done yes. But of course noone's listening to him; nobody's going to listen to the voice of reason the day after the village loses villagers, and the missionaries suddenly can't reach their god. (And we even know Pelor himself may well say the same thing to these people in a week or so, but it's looking like that'll be way too late to avert disaster.)
On the other hand, Ashton was way too quiet through most of the episode. Combine that with what bits we've gotten from his backstory, and I think we're very close to hitting it indeed. Who knows if the Elder might have even recognized him, had he not changed races since she might have seen him last. But since he's gone unrecognized so far, the question very much remains when and how that could change, and what might follow that.
I am also getting more suspicious of Prism than of Bor'dor. He may well be a polymorphed dog or whatever, but how much would it matter at the moment, even if he is? Meanwhile, seeing her abandon her questionairing so quickly, and see her with a demon summoning spell? I'm getting skeptical about this longtime Colbalt Soul apprentice claim, and she could easily be something much more dangerous than a humanized canine.
