For the second weekend in a row it got even hotter than it had been during the week, and this time I really did only leave the house during the grocery run, and watched a few things with a bit of an apocalyptic bent. Including episode three of The Last of Us, which made me want to cry. Also most of Midst; I watched much of the Wednesday marathon live, and have been catching up on the rest of it; I've now got half an hour to go. It's certainly a dark series, darker than the higher-profile players of Critical Role care to go, and you get that feeling even before the apocalypse part starts. Really, by the time you hear the Trust has actually brought Midst out, and you realize immediately most of the planet's inhabitants are probably about to end up in debt bondage, you start feeling like that moon coming down and ending all these ugly events would be a bit of a relief. Which is, of course, a feeling not entirely unfamiliar to many of the inhabitants of the Earth right now. Still, it certainly has had its more lively and even fun moments.
I managed to get caught in another downpour on Thursday-one that in fact really started about a minute before the bus home reached my stop, and was starting to let up just as I was approaching my door. I'm still not sure if my sandals have dried from that one yet. But it seems the storms have more or less paused her for the moment, and right now I'm not even seeing any in the weather forecast. It's just going to continue to be really, really hot.
