I finally joined a Call of the Netherdeep group on Roll20, one that seems to be having a bit of trouble keeping all their players, but there still plenty more willing to join. We'll be using the new D&D One backgrounds and stat builds, which will be interesting, but I mind much less when Schist's original folk hero background didn't quite match her anyway. Session 0's tonight, and we'll be meeting online on Monday evening.
Which will make for a handful of hairy Mondays with most of my Metro route about to shut down. But as is becoming my custom whenever that happens, I'm taking the first Monday of it off, I'll be taking the entire week of NYCC off, and I'll be teleworking the Monday the Depository Library conference is happening. (It really is for the best that one stayed virtual this year!) I've been looking into using the free VRE service to avoid the shuttle buses, but the trains aren't leaving at the most convenient times for that.
I ended up deciding to go to NYCC in person and bought the tickets just in time for them to be mailed. So now I am waiting anxiously for more news on this new Omicron booster, and if there's any chance of my getting this month. I think it's been long enough since mom's second booster that she'd be eligible for it, too, and probably a lot of other high-risk people, so maybe we will just have to wait, but noone seems to be saying either way. At least I can believe the city will pay for it at the CVSes, since they took over that already.
